Bucky Pizzarelli and Benny Green
I had the superb pleasure of hearing Papa P. and Benny Green last night at Yoshi's in Oakland.
I was impressed on so many levels watching these two "old masters" share the stage. Benny is wise beyond his obvious years (what is he, twelve?) and the way he interacted with the Papa P was touching and impressive.
They did a version of Cherokee that knocked me out.
During intermission I stood and watched them speak with the fans and sign cds-CLASS!!!
What a duo.
