My husband and I had a fabulous time at John&Jess' show in LA end of July. After listening to the RD show for over a year (each Sunday AM - JAZZ.fm), we were so excited to see you both in person. Great show, great band and many loyal listeners to enjoy the entertainment. I'm glad KJAZZ wised up and put you back on the air. Thanks.

What a lovely lady to honor, my friends, this exceptional and influential phenomenon we still know as the "Queen of the Blues," (at times referred to as "Queen of the Jukeboxes"). I must admit that Dinah Washington's "Little Girl Blue" remains close to my heart, perhaps my favorite (takes nothing away from Nina Simone), her interpretation is superb.

And then there’s that legendary Grammy® (Best Rhythm and Blues Performance), “What a Difference a Day Makes,” a gem.

Ruth Lee Jones, Dinah Washington, or “The Queen,” she made her mark during her too brief stay, just thirty-nine years. She was always ahead of the curve and ahead of her time; and so I’d like to offer her recording of “Destination Moon.”
